Dr. Susanne Kent-Miller grew up in Westchester County, where she spent much of her childhood riding horses and caring for her family’s pets. Dr. Kent-Miller received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania College of Arts and Sciences in 1984, and received her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. She continued her training with an internship at Rowley Memorial Animal Hospital in Springfield, MA. Dr. Kent-Miller then worked as an associate at Newark Animal Hospital in Delaware, where she benefited from the mentorship of multiple specialists. In 1992, she joined Park East Animal Hospital on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, where she served as Associate Veterinarian and then Medical Director through 2013.
For over 25 years Dr. Kent-Miller has continued to focus on small animal medicine and surgery, with a special interest in internal medicine, geriatric care, preventive care, and dentistry. She is proficient in diagnosing and managing multifaceted medical conditions in her patients. Dr. Kent-Miller’s understanding of the unequivocal bond between her patients and their families has been the foundation of the tailored medicine she provides.
In the spring of 2013, Dr. Kent-Miller founded Sutton Veterinary Group, a house call practice, while searching for a home for her full service hospital with her business partner, Dr. Monica Kennedy. They proudly opened the doors of Sutton Animal Hospital in May 2017. Here Dr. Kent-Miller continues to provide the thorough, compassionate, high-quality veterinary care that she is known for.
Dr. Kent-Miller lives on the Upper East Side of Manhattan with her husband, their two children, and their dog Hunter. In her free time she enjoys bicycling, kayaking, and spending time with her children.
